Whilst a bowling alley may not be unique to the Isle of Wight, you can always rely on them when it’s raining outside.
Dinosaur Isle
You may already have Dinosaur Isle on your list of things to do anyway, especially if you have kids. This is a brilliant interactive museum where you can explore the fascinating history of when dinosaurs walked the earth. Again, it is all inside, so even if the weather is terrible outside you won’t need to worry when visiting Dinosaur Isle.
Sandown Pier
Heading to the beach may seem like a strange thing to do if it is raining, but at Sandown Pier, there is so much to do inside. From adventure golf to an indoor play area, you can guarantee that your kids will love it here. Of course, you can enjoy the amusement arcades and get some yummy fish and chips whilst you’re here as well.
Amazon World
Many love visiting Amazon World whilst they’re on the island and there is a huge range of unusual rare and exotic animals to see here. When looking for rainy day activities for kids, there is also a huge jungle themed soft play area. Hopefully, if the weather brightens up you will then be able to walk around and see some of the animals too.
Newport Roman Villa
If you’re interested in history and you can convince everyone to do something a little bit more educational, then a trip to Newport Roman Villa is perfect. Walk around the extensive remains of a late Romano-British farmhouse which was built around 280 AD and get an insight into country life in third-century Britain.
