We are delighted to announce that Ford Farm House, our Isle of Wight Bed and Breakfast, has been awarded 9.9 our of 10 in the Booking.com Traveller Review Awards 2021.
The news comes almost a year after the UK was hit with the coronavirus pandemic, which changed everyone’s holiday movements for the year ahead.
Even now, in February 2021, almost a year after the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions were implemented, we are still facing the brunt of the ‘stay at home’ message.
During the winter, Ford Farm House does become quiet, with guests wishing to stay within the comfort of their homes, or travelling abroad to warmer countries, however, we hope that the year ahead will see more UK residents holidaying within the country.
In 2020, in our Isle of Wight Bed and Breakfast, we saw an increase in guests than in previous years, mainly because of our remote, rural location, ‘away from people’.
Where we are located, on the outskirts of the rural village of Whitwell, with the nearest public bus stop being a mile away, guests are usually put off by our remote location.
2020 was an exception, guests wanted to be away from busy areas, so chose to stay in our bed and breakfast.
Those who had to, unfortunately, cancel their bookings, or postpone until this year, are waiting to be welcomed within our retreat.
Proprietor, Shirley Thornton, is pleased to be awarded the Booking.com Traveller Review Award for 2021:
“With everything that is going on at the moment, it is a great boost to hear those who have stayed with us, 99% of them loved their stay.”
President and Chief Executive Officer at Booking.com, Glenn Fogel, said:
“I want to extend my personal congratulations on your Traveller Review Award for 2021.
“Along with so many other challenges, 2020 was a year with limited opportunities for travel. That meant that the trips your guests managed to take mattered more to them than ever. And you rose to the occasion. The exceptional review scores you earned consistently over the last year show just how much your guests appreciate everything you do for them.
“And we appreciate it too. The entire Booking.com team and I are grateful, as always, for the commitment you show to offering travellers outstanding hospitality.
“Your achievement is worth celebrating, so I encourage you to share the news of your Traveller Review Award on social media, at your property and on our platform.
“As we head into 2021, I’m excited about the opportunities ahead. I look forward to strengthening our partnership as we continue to rebuild our industry together.
“From everyone at Booking.com, thank you once again for your partnership and for your incredible hospitality.”
